Kenya U20 goalkeeper completes move to Europe

The highly rated shot stopper joins the club ahead of the new season after Lakatamia finished fourth in the 2025/26 Cypriot Women’s First Division campaign

Kenyan international goalkeeper Ephy Awuor has completed a move to Cypriot Women’s First Division side Lakatamia, becoming the latest Harambee Starlets player to secure a transfer to Europe.

The highly rated shot stopper joins the club ahead of the new season, after Lakatamia finished fourth in the 2025/26 Cypriot Women’s First Division campaign.

The Cypriot outfit confirmed the signing on its official social media platforms.

“Welcome, international goalkeeper from Kenya, Ephy Awuor. We wish her a season full of health and success.“

Awuor heads to Cyprus with experience at both youth and international levels.

She was part of the Junior Starlets squad that made history by becoming the first Kenyan football team to feature at a FIFA tournament after qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

She is expected to bolster Lakatamia’s goalkeeping department as the club aims to push higher up the league table during the upcoming campaign.

Founded from the legacy of Enosis Neon THOI Lakatamia, the club has established itself as a competitive force in Cypriot women’s football by combining experienced local players with international talent.
